Centre Wellington’s municipal election campaign will move into the community this September with two opportunities to hear directly from local candidates.
The first is a business-focused meet-and-greet organized by the Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce. One week later, all five mayoral candidates are scheduled to participate in a public debate in Elora.
Connect with the Candidates

The Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce will host a casual, self-guided “Connect with the Candidates” event for members of the local business community.
The event is designed to give Chamber members an opportunity to meet participating candidates, learn more about their platforms and discuss issues affecting local businesses and the broader community.
Registration is free but is limited to Chamber members. Members can also submit questions for candidates in advance by emailing brock@cwchamber.ca.

Centre Wellington Mayoral Debate

Centre Wellington’s five mayoral candidates are scheduled to meet for a public debate hosted by R.E.A.C.H. Wellington.
The debate will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by a public question-and-answer period continuing until 9:00 p.m.

R.E.A.C.H. Wellington is a local community organization advocating for action on housing and homelessness in rural Centre Wellington. Light refreshments will be provided.

Two Different Ways to Hear From Candidates
The two events will offer different formats for engaging with candidates.
The Chamber event will provide eligible members with informal, one-on-one conversations focused partly on local business issues. The mayoral debate will give the wider public an opportunity to compare the five candidates and submit questions during the public Q&A.
